Iran is expected to resist a US proposal to transfer its highly enriched uranium stockpile to a third country, such as Russia.

Axar.az reports citing the Guardian.

The issue, which appears to be a major obstacle to a future agreement, was raised in preliminary talks in the Omani capital Muscat between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Donald Trump's special envoy Stephen Whitkoff.

Tehran insists that the stockpile (enriched uranium) accumulated over the past four years should remain in Iran under strict supervision by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The Iranian side sees this as a precautionary measure in case a future US administration withdraws from the deal.
