Zakharova: Merz is a 'slave' to Germany’s arms industry

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is a “slave” to the military-industrial complex and needs more money and more orders so that he can benefit from them as well.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Zakharova made the remark on Sputnik radio.

“German Foreign Minister [Johann] Wadephul said he was not very satisfied with Ukraine. One might think that perhaps he had read the European Union’s human rights report and was horrified by the lawlessness taking place in Ukraine concerning everything: its own citizens, the rules and laws governing modern life in terms of human rights, as well as honor, dignity and morality. But no, he was dissatisfied with Ukraine, the Kyiv regime and Bankova for exactly the opposite reason. He said they were placing too few military orders with Germany’s military-industrial complex.

It is clear that Merz, Wadephul and his team have been closely tied to the military-industrial complex for many years. He does not simply lobby for them; he serves them. He is a slave, Merz is a slave to the military-industrial complex. Accordingly, they need more money and more orders so that, so to speak, Merz can get his share as well. So that they understand what country they are talking about, against which they want to deploy even more weapons, they should understand that even just one region of our vast homeland is larger than their entire Germany,” she said.
