The majority of members of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Majlis (unicameral parliament) have spoken out in favor of the republic's withdrawal from the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) in light of the US's overnight strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities.

Axar.az reports that the committee's representative, Ibrahim Rezai, said this in an interview with Tasnim news agency.

"The majority of the committee members sharply criticized the IAEA's activities and called for the cessation of cooperation with the agency. In addition, the committee members' demands, which are planned to be included in the agenda of the next parliamentary session, include a review of Iran's participation in the Non-Proliferation Treaty and Iran's withdrawal from the treaty," he said.
