The International Criminal Court (ICC) has rejected Israel’s request to withdraw arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

Axar.az, citing Reuters, these warrants, issued in November 2025, relate to alleged war crimes committed during the Gaza conflict.

The court also declined Israel's request to suspend its broader investigation into potential atrocity crimes in the Palestinian territories.

Israel, which disputes the ICC’s jurisdiction, argued that an earlier appeals decision invalidated the basis for the warrants—an argument the judges dismissed. The arrest warrants will remain in place while the ICC continues to review Israel's jurisdictional objections.

There is no set timeline for a final decision. Meanwhile, tensions remain high, especially following U.S. sanctions on ICC judges involved in the case.
