A US political activist and lawyer said that the US President Donald Trump executive order which bans visa for citizens of certain Muslim-majority countries is a political action that aims to eliminate Muslims from the US community.

Axar.az reports that Naomi Tsu who oversees the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC)’s legal and advocacy work on behalf of immigrants said that Trump order will encourage terrorist groups.

Trump showed that he does not distinguish between Islam and a small group of violent extremist group, she noted.

Tsu refused the White House claim that the US president order planned to increase national security and said that the Trump policies have targeted Muslims and groups like Iranians and Shias Muslims.

The US visa ban targets people based on their religion and nationality, she underlined.

Tsu pointed to SPLC lawsuit against the US President order and said that according to the lawsuit, US president executive order is against the US Constitution and will undermine Muslim families residing in the US.

The order prohibits Shia religious scholars’ entry into the US, she noted.

Tsu said,”It is unlikely that the Congress change the US president order.”

The US civil society has solidarity with Muslims and Iranians and would continue protests in solidarity with them, she added.
