Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has become the highest-grossing film of the director’s career, surpassing The Dark Knight Rises at the global box office.

Axar.az reports that the film has grossed $1.1 billion worldwide after four weekends, including $461.1 million in North America and $643.6 million internationally.

The Dark Knight Rises previously held Nolan’s record with $1.085 billion.

Nolan’s films have now earned more than $7 billion globally, while Oppenheimer remains his third-highest-grossing film with $975.8 million.

The Odyssey is also the second-highest-grossing R-rated film worldwide, behind Deadpool & Wolverine, which earned $1.33 billion. It is the highest-grossing R-rated film of 2026 and has become the top-grossing film worldwide for stars Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway and Robert Pattinson.

“Christopher Nolan has earned audiences’ trust by consistently delivering must-see theatrical events, and The Odyssey is him operating at the peak of his powers,” said Jim Orr, Universal Pictures’ president of domestic theatrical distribution.
