Armenia produces new film about Monte Melkonyan

Armenia has made a new film titled “Monte” about Monte Melkonyan, a terrorist killed by the Azerbaijani Army.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, that the film was produced by Genetic Production, with Nona Sarkisyan serving as the chief producer.

The film is based on the memoirs of Melkonyan’s wife, Seda Melkonyan.

The film is expected to be screened in cinemas starting November 25.

It should be noted that the film’s main sources of funding are Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and the Yerevan Municipality.

Monte Melkonyan was one of the leaders of ASALA, which has been designated a terrorist organization by the US Department of State and other countries. He was involved in assassinations targeting Turkish diplomats and other individuals.

Melkonyan was killed by Azerbaijani Army personnel during fighting in Marzili on June 12, 1993.
