Gal Gadot delivered a powerful speech at the Never Is Now 2025 summit, where she received the Anti-Defamation League's (ADL) International Leadership Award for her outspoken advocacy against antisemitism and support for Israel.
Axar.az, citing JP, reports that in her remarks, Gadot emphasized the importance of Jewish pride and self-reliance, stating, "We can't hold our breaths and pray or beg for support from people, groups, or communities that don’t want to be there for us. We need to be there for ourselves."
She also reflected on how the events of October 7, 2024, changed her perspective, calling the Hamas attack on Israel a "wake-up call" and condemning those who justified or celebrated it.
While she previously avoided political discussions, she acknowledged that the rise in antisemitism made silence impossible, declaring, "However much you try to avoid it before, none of us can ignore the explosion of Jew hatred around the world anymore."
Gadot also shared personal stories about her family's history, connecting her Holocaust survivor grandfather and her deep Israeli roots to the broader story of Jewish resilience. She concluded her speech with a call for unity and strength: "My name is Gal, and I'm Jewish. Am Yisrael Chai."
The ADL praised her leadership, highlighting her efforts to amplify the voices of survivors and hostages, as well as her advocacy at international forums. CEO Jonathan Greenblatt called her "a hero both on screen and off."
