SOCAR AQS drilling new well in Caspian Sea

Azerbaijan’s SOCAR-AQS drilling has started drilling a new well at the Western Absheron field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, the company told Trend Feb. 15.

“The drilling of the horizontal well at the Western Absheron field will be carried out from the fixed offshore platform,” said the company. “The well there is 890 meters in depth. In addition, the company conducts preparatory work for drilling new wells at the Bulla Deniz and Guneshli fields.”

SOCAR-AQS was established in 2007 by SOCAR and Absheron Drilling as a joint venture, providing integrated services for drilling and well servicing.

Currently, SOCAR-AQS mainly conducts drilling from the fixed platform No. 11 in the shallow part of the Guneshli field, as well as from the platform No. 1 at the Umid field.
