Azerbaijan’s SOCAR drilling new well

The Integrated Drilling Trust of Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) has started to drill a new well at the Bulla Deniz offshore field, read a message posted on SOCAR's website.

The well #78 is being drilled from the platform #6 at the Bulla Deniz field in the Caspian Sea, according to the message.

The well's depth is to be 5,900 meters.

The operation of the Bulla Deniz field started in 1975. Over 61 billion cubic meters of gas and 12 million tons of oil and gas condensate have been produced at the field since then.

SOCAR is the sole producer of oil products in Azerbaijan. It has two oil refineries and filling stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland.

SOCAR is the co-owner of the largest Turkish petrochemical complex, Petkim, and other assets in Turkey.

Moreover, currently, the company is carrying out work as part of ensuring the supply of Azerbaijani gas to Europe.
