The genocide committed in Khojaly on February 26, 1992, was met with horror, not only in Azerbaijan, but all over the world. The world's famous newspapers and magazines have presented the drama of the human tragedy in Khojaly.

Axar.az presents you the world media’s report about this tragedy, a few days after the Khojaly genocide:

“Le Mond” newspaper (Paris), 14 March 1992 "Foreign journalists in Agdam have seen three men who are heads have been scraped and nails removed among the women and children killed. This is not a propaganda of Azerbaijan, this is reality".

“Izvestiya” 13 march 1992 “I saw approximately 100 corpses on the hill. I saw boy without the head. The bodies of women, children, and elderly people which was killed with special cruelty, were seen everywhere".

“Moskovskie Novosti” reporter Yuri Pompeyev just wrote a sentence about what he saw:

There was no one in Khojaly, there were only corpses.

"Krua l` Eveneman "magazine (Paris), March 25, 1992 "Armenians have attacked Khojaly. The whole world witnessed deformed corps".

“Financial Times” newspaper (London), 9 March 1992 "The Armenians fired on the refugee convoy to Aghdam".

“Sunday Times” (London), 1 March 1992 “Armenian soldiers destroyed hundreds of families”.

“Times” newspaper (London), 4 March 1992 “Most of the corpses were deformed in Khojaly, we saw little girl head without body”.

American journalist Thomas Golts describes about what he saw in Khojaly:

The photographer was frozen, he had to throw himself on dead bodies to take pictures. The bodies, the broken members ... were horrific. The bodies of the corpses were torn apart, and the skin of some of them was peeled off.

Russian journalist Yuri Romanov:

I saw little girl 6 years old, her eyes were closed, I bend down to her without turning off camera and asked her about what happened?

-My eyes, my eyes are burning.

The doctor near to her sad that she is blinded:

-They put out a cigarette on her eyes. She still had cigarette lumps on her eyes, when she has been brought to us.

Armenian journalist Daud Xeyrian:

I was with the Armenian group responsible for burning people killed in the massacre. I saw a 10 year old girl in the last Kamaz. She was injured from the head and hand. She was still alive despite the cold, hunger, and sores. At that moment, a soldier named Tiranian threw her and thrown over to other corpses. Then they burned all their bodies. I heard a shouting cry among the dead bodies at that moment…”
