Moscow is currently satisfied with the absence of military operations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, but there are some questions about the “Trump Road”.
Axar.az reports that this was said by Vladimir Dzhabarov, First Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federation Council of Russia.
I do not think that the implementation of the “Trump Road” plan will be easy. Especially considering that the Trump administration is located thousands of kilometers away from the region, many questions arise. Russia, Turkiye, and Iran - they are all here. Therefore, this road should be a road of peace, cooperation, and should benefit all parties, including Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Dzhabarov noted.
The Russian MP said that the future transport artery should be beneficial for all parties - both Armenia and Azerbaijan:
“This should not be a road that benefits one country at the expense of the other. A balance of interests should be sought to ensure that all parties benefit.”
According to Dzhabarov, Russia’s role in ensuring stability in the South Caucasus remains “fundamental”:
“Without Russia’s participation, it will not be possible to fully resolve all problems between Armenia and Azerbaijan. "Russia has been and remains a country interested in a stable South Caucasus and friendly relations with both Armenia and Azerbaijan. This path should serve the development of these countries, not the interests of third countries."
