Euronest is the only format where we can bring together parliamentarians from Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Moldova.
Axar.az reports that Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya said this in a video address to the 12th plenary session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly held in Yerevan on October 29.
“I would like to congratulate the co-chairs for bringing people together in this way and for ensuring Belarus’s participation. For us, Euronest means more than just a platform — it is a unique space where nations facing similar challenges can share both their pains and successes. For all of us, this is the only format where we can bring together parliamentarians from Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Moldova,” she said.
Tsikhanouskaya also addressed Azerbaijan in her message:
“I would like to send a message to our Azerbaijani friends — we are very open and interested in building relations. We are confident that we will find areas of common interest and mutual benefit.”
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation refused to participate in the 12th plenary session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, held in Yerevan from October 28 to 30. The decision was explained by the European Parliament’s statements and resolutions against Azerbaijan’s state sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Along with Azerbaijan, Georgia also declined to attend the session.
As for Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, the Belarusian opposition politician living in exile in Lithuania previously gained attention for her provocative statements against Azerbaijan during and after the 44-day war. She was also forced to cancel her visit to Armenia after the Lithuanian government downgraded her personal security level.
