Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, met Vilayat Eyvazov, Interior Minister of Azerbaijan, who is paying an official visit to the country.
Axar.az informs, citing the Georgian TV channel 1tv.ge, according to the Government Administration, the meeting focused on the fruitful cooperation between the two countries and the prospects for further deepening the strategic partnership.
Emphasis was placed on the successful bilateral partnership established over the years between the law enforcement agencies of Georgia and Azerbaijan.
It was noted that the agreement signed today between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the two countries will contribute to further strengthening existing cooperation between the relevant agencies, including in the areas of crime prevention, detection and suppression.
The discussion also addressed the importance of ensuring stability and establishing lasting peace in the region.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Geka Geladze, Head of Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Azerbaijan Zurab Pataradze, and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev.
