Russia addresses Azerbaijan embassy incident

Statements alleging deliberate strikes on Azerbaijani facilities in Ukraine do not correspond to reality.

Axar.az informs this was stated in a report by the Russian Foreign Ministry following a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Moscow, Rakhman Mustafayev.

"The Russian side expressed its sincere regret over the incident. At the same time, based on the information examined, it was determined that the damage to the complex of buildings of the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission in Kyiv most likely occurred as a result of the improper functioning of Ukraine’s air defense systems—presumably due to the fall of a Patriot air defense missile," the statement reads.

It should be noted that during the night of November 14, as a result of a large-scale air attack by the Russian armed forces on Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, the building of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Ukraine sustained serious damage.
