First Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, held telephone conversations with the Chiefs of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces and the Hungarian Defense Forces, Army General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu and General Gabor Borondi.
Axar.az informs according to the Ministry of Defense, the talks were held at the initiative of the Turkish and Hungarian counterparts.
The parties exchanged detailed views on military cooperation between the countries, as well as on the situation in the region and security issues.
During the conversation, the chiefs of staff also addressed the drone attacks carried out by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran against civilian infrastructure in the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, emphasizing that such actions contradict the norms of international law.
It was also noted that the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, General Faiyad bin Hamed Al-Rovaili, conveyed through his country’s military attaché in Azerbaijan that Saudi Arabia opposes such attacks and is always ready to provide the necessary support.
Colonel General Karim Valiyev expressed gratitude to his counterparts for their position and support.
It should be noted that earlier today Iran carried out a drone attack using four UAVs targeting the Nakhchivan International Airport and a secondary school.
