Azerbaijani, Moldovan Foreign Ministers hold talks in Baku

Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, held both tete-a-tete and extended meetings with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popsoi, during Popsoi’s official visit to Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports, citing the Azerbaijani MFA, that the ministers discussed ways to sustain and expand bilateral political dialogue, further develop cooperation in economy, energy, transport, and humanitarian fields, and coordinate joint efforts within international organizations, including the United Nations and the OSCE.

The ministers also addressed the evolving volatile security situation in the Middle East. Minister Bayramov expressed Azerbaijan’s serious concern over the drone attacks launched by Iran on 5 March 2026 against the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which damaged civilian infrastructure—including an airport and a school—and injured civilians.

Bayramov also briefed his Moldovan counterpart on the ongoing normalization and peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
