President Ilham Aliyev has extended his greetings to the women of Azerbaijan in celebration of March 8 – International Women’s Day.

The Azerbaijani people have always regarded the name of a woman as a symbol of delicacy, beauty, and nobility, showing her deep respect. Our rich and challenging history is full of bright examples of our women’s wisdom, dedication, and heroism. In the hearts of every Azerbaijani, the very concept of Mother evokes luminous feelings connected to the homeland and the soil of our country. Mothers have played an incomparable role in preserving our national and spiritual values as a unified whole and in keeping our language alive through the test of centuries.

Throughout history, our country has always welcomed and respected the active participation of women in social life. The fact that Azerbaijani women gained the right to vote and be elected earlier than women in many advanced countries reflects this progressive approach.
