Azerbaijan files complaint with ICAO over drone attack

The Azerbaijani government has submitted a complaint to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) regarding a drone attack on Nakhchivan International Airport originating from Iran.

Axar.az informs the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport released the information.

Yesterday, unmanned aerial vehicles launched attacks on the terminal building of Nakhchivan Airport from Iranian territory.

Under the Convention on International Civil Aviation of December 7, 1944, and the international standards outlined in Annex 17 – “Aviation Security” – any unlawful interference at an airport requires the member state to submit an initial report to the ICAO.

Following these standards, the State Civil Aviation Agency under the Ministry has sent the corresponding preliminary report to the ICAO.
