Two Azerbaijani diplomats have been evacuated from Iran through the Astara state border crossing point.

Axar.az reports three Russian diplomats were also among those evacuated.

Additionally, three Czech diplomats were evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that earlier, Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, instructed officials to organize the evacuation of staff from Azerbaijan’s embassy in Tehran as well as the country’s consulate general in Tabriz.

Nine staff members of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Tehran have now been evacuated from Iran.

Their evacuation was carried out through the Astara border crossing.

The evacuation of other embassy staff is expected in the coming hours.
