German FM Wadephul called Jeyhun Bayramov

On March 9, Johann David Wadephul, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, held a phone conversation with Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

Axar.az informs the sides discussed the current security situation in the region and the impact of rising tensions in the Middle East on regional and global security.

The German minister expressed concern over the drone attacks carried out by Iran against Azerbaijan, strongly condemned the attacks, and voiced solidarity with the country.

Johann David Wadephul also thanked the Azerbaijani side for the support provided in the evacuation of German citizens from Iran.

During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the prospects for Azerbaijan–Germany bilateral relations, as well as other regional issues of mutual interest.
