Fidan discusses regional tensions with FM Bayramov

Jeyhun Bayramov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, held a phone conversation with Hakan Fidan.

Axar.az reports during the call, the ministers exchanged views on the current security situation in the region and rising tensions, discussing the risks posed by recent events against the backdrop of military escalation and their potential impact on regional stability.

Minister Bayramov condemned the missile attack carried out on Turkish territory today and reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s support for the brotherly Turkish people.

The discussion also focused on measures to reduce tensions and promote dialogue, noting that further military escalation could lead to undesirable consequences. Both sides emphasized that attacks on neighboring countries and violations of sovereign territorial integrity are unacceptable.

The ministers highlighted the strategic alliance and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkiye, underlining the importance of continued mutual consultations and coordination on regional issues amid the current complex geopolitical environment.

Other issues of mutual interest were also addressed during the phone conversation.
