Mexico to set up embassy operations in Azerbaijan

I have now arrived in Azerbaijan. My government instructed me to set up our embassy here with the support of the Azerbaijani government and the Mexican embassy in Azerbaijan. That is why my team and I are here.

Axar.az reports Mexico’s ambassador to Iran, Guillermo Puente Ordorika, was safely evacuated to Azerbaijani territory.

The ambassador told media representatives:

"As you can see, the tense situation is one of the reasons for our arrival. Azerbaijan is a friendly country. Mexico and Azerbaijan share very good bilateral relations. I come to Azerbaijan quite frequently. During my years as ambassador to Iran, I visited several times. But this time, as I mentioned, I have come to work in Baku together with my team. We hope that the situation we are currently observing will be resolved peacefully soon," the ambassador said.

The evacuation process is being carried out in full accordance with the necessary procedures and security measures.

It should be noted that today, seven Mexican diplomats and their family members were evacuated via the border crossing. After completing all required procedures, they crossed the border safely and entered Azerbaijani territory.
