We have been living in peace for only seven months.

Axar.az reports President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said this in a press statement alongside the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa.

“Independence was gained in 1991, and only during the last seven months have we experienced a period of peace. I am confident that peace will continue. We have already begun trade and started supplying important petroleum products to Armenia. This once again demonstrates our strong political will. I believe this is the best indication of both sides’ intention to build healthy relations and remain committed to peace. Therefore, the main topic on our agenda is the discussion of security issues in the region,” the head of state emphasized.
