Azerbaijan, Turkiye foreign ministers hold phone call

A phone conversation took place between Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Turkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

Axar.az reports during the call, the ministers discussed the current security situation in the region and the rising tensions.

Bayramov condemned the most recent missile attack on Turkish territory and reiterated Azerbaijan’s full support for Turkiye, emphasizing that further military escalation could produce serious and undesirable consequences.

The discussion also covered other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.

Earlier on the same day, a ballistic missile fired from Iran entered Turkish airspace but was intercepted by NATO air defense forces in the Eastern Mediterranean, according to Turkiye’s Ministry of National Defense.

This follows two prior Iranian missile incursions on March 4 and 9, which were also successfully neutralized by NATO forces.
