A total of 2,309 people were evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan, between 08:00 on February 28 and 10:00 on March 13.
Axar.az reports that 403 of those evacuated are Azerbaijani citizens.
At the same time, citizens of China (686), Russia (294), Tajikistan (178), Pakistan (140), Indonesia (68), Oman (57), Italy (44), Iran (33), Spain (26), Algeria (25), Saudi Arabia (18), Japan (17), France and Germany (16 each), Georgia, Uzbekistan and Nigeria (13 each), Hungary and Poland (12 each), Switzerland and Mexico (11 each), and Kazakhstan, Belarus, Bulgaria, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Canada (10 each) were also evacuated to Azerbaijan.
In addition, the evacuees include 9 citizens of the United Kingdom, 8 from Brazil, 6 each from the United Arab Emirates, Slovakia, Belgium and Romania; 5 each from Serbia, the Czech Republic, Afghanistan, Austria, Greece and India; 4 each from Jordan, Bangladesh, Turkiye, Ukraine, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United States, Finland and the Netherlands; 3 each from Qatar, the Philippines, Croatia, Australia and Denmark; and 2 each from Nepal, Lebanon, Yemen, Kyrgyzstan, Sweden, Sudan, Cyprus and Slovenia.
Furthermore, one citizen each from Tunisia, South Africa, the Maldives, Myanmar, Cuba, the Vatican, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Latvia, Egypt and Belize was evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan.
It should be recalled that the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran on February 28. As a result, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking officials were killed.
Following this, Iran began striking targets it identified in Israel as well as in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq and Cyprus, where U.S. and allied military bases are located.
