The foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Estonia held the second round of consular consultations in Baku on September 17.

Axar.az reports that the Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, while the Estonian delegation was headed by Margus Sarglepp, Director General of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Representatives of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Science and Education, and State Migration Service also participated in the consultations.

During the consular consultations, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Estonia in the consular sphere, including possibilities for signing new bilateral documents in this field.

The two emphasized the importance of close cooperation in providing consular assistance to citizens of both countries. The sides also exchanged views on existing practices and advanced mechanisms for the digitalization of consular services.

The meeting also stressed the importance of advancing relations between the two countries in the fields of migration, justice, internal affairs, education, social affairs, and other areas.
