Azerbaijan celebrates State Sovereignty Day

Azerbaijan is marking State Sovereignty Day.

Axar.az reports that, under an order signed by President Ilham Aliyev on September 19, 2024, September 20 is celebrated annually as State Sovereignty Day in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

On September 19, 2023, an anti-terror operation was launched in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh economic region to prevent large-scale provocations, disarm and remove remnants of the Armenian armed forces from Azerbaijani territory, and restore the constitutional order of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the area.

The operation lasted just 23 hours and ended on September 20. As a result, the Azerbaijani Army fulfilled all the tasks assigned to it, and Azerbaijan’s sovereignty was fully restored.
