Physical meetings on the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia are of great importance.

Axar.az reports that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, said this in a statement to journalists within the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.

"On February 28-29, the delegations of Azerbaijan and Armenia continued negotiations on the peace process in Berlin. Before that, peace talks had not been held for about 7 months. The delegations met twice in the summer of 2023. After that, only the text and the transfer of projects to each other were recorded. In any case, physical meetings are important in this process," the minister said.

J. Bayramov noted that positive dynamics have been observed in the recent peace negotiations:

"First of all, I would like to note the meeting of the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia at the Munich Security Conference, at the initiative of the German Chancellor, which was a contact between the leaders after a certain break. In general, we evaluate the meeting positively. And after that contact, the foreign ministers a decision was made about the meeting".

The minister highly appreciated the negotiations conducted in the direction of the peace process in general:

"Here, our proposal and the approach adopted by the other side was that, unlike previous discussions, we did not discuss the text and specific items. However, there are several open and disagreeable approaches. And we mainly devoted two days to the discussion of those points."
