Iran against third-party oversight in Zangezur

Tehran opposes third countries' control over communications in Zangezur.

Axar.az reports that Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Subhani made this statement.

"Yerevan has stated that the control at border checkpoints will be carried out by the Armenian authorities. We support that everything should be within the framework of Armenia's sovereignty, and any control should be conducted by Armenia. We do not support the involvement of foreign countries in providing control or security here," Subhani said.

It should be noted that the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that they are considering the possibility of transferring the functions of ensuring the safety of future transport communications with Azerbaijan to private companies.
