Kaja Kallas, the former Prime Minister of Estonia, will take up the role of High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy starting November 1.
Axar.az reports that this was announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
"Kaja Kallas, as you already know, will be our High Representative and Vice-President. We are in a period of geopolitical confrontation and instability. Our foreign and security policy must be defined with this reality in mind," von der Leyen said.
Currently, the head of EU diplomacy is Josep Borrell.
