Bulgarians will head to the polls on Sunday for the seventh general election in just over three years, as the country grapples with increasing political instability that may boost the popularity of pro-Russian and far-right groups.

Axar.az reports that , citing Associated Press, out of the six elections held since 2021, only two resulted in an elected government, both of which collapsed while attempting to implement reforms, combat corruption, and reduce dependence on Russia.

Observers believe the upcoming election is likely to produce similar results, with little hope for an immediate resolution to the political deadlock.

Pollsters anticipate that voter fatigue and disappointment with the political system will lead to low turnout and another divided parliament, potentially allowing populist and pro-Russian factions to increase their presence.
