On November 5, nearly 83 million U.S. citizens cast early votes in the country's general elections.
Axar.az reports that this information was provided by the University of Florida.
Experts at the university estimated that 82,713,594 citizens participated in early voting—almost 45 million at polling stations and 37.7 million by mail.
Of those who voted, 37.8% were members of the Democratic Party, while 35.8% were Republicans. The remaining 26.4% of voters did not disclose their political affiliation.
The state with the highest voter turnout was Texas (8.9 million), followed by Florida (8.3 million) and California (8.1 million).
It is worth noting that the total number of eligible voters in the U.S. is 168 million.
