Invitation sent to Armenia for COP29, participation status unknown.

Axar.az reports that Ayxan Hacizade, Head of the Press Service Department of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told journalists that an invitation has been sent to Armenia to participate in the COP29 event, but there is no information yet on whether they will attend.

He added that the participation of Armenian representatives in the event is still unknown.

Hacizada also commented on what Armenia might lose if they choose not to attend:

"Climate change is one of the main threats to the world. Many countries are having serious discussions about combating this threat. Contributing to significant discussions should be a top priority for every member state."

He emphasized that Armenia’s participation in COP29 is their own decision, and Azerbaijan does not make any comments on the matter. However, participation in such an important discussion is crucial for every state.
