On November 13, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with the Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China, Ding Xuexiang.
Axar.az reports that Ding Xuexiang conveyed greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping to the President of Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to Xi Jinping.
The guest noted that the speech of the President at COP29 was very comprehensive and substantive. He stated that the organization of COP29 was at a high level, and they were pleased with it, which further demonstrates Azerbaijan’s high organizational potential under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. Ding Xuexiang highlighted that the tasks assigned by President Ilham Aliyev were carried out at a high level, noting the rapid implementation of such a large-scale project in a short time.
The Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China also emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and China are strategic partnerships, and the adoption of the Joint Declaration on the Establishment of Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People's Republic of China has raised their cooperation to a new level.
President Ilham Aliyev agreed that the relations between the two countries are of a strategic partnership character, which has further enriched the substance of their cooperation.
During the conversation, Azerbaijan’s cooperation with China’s BYD company in the preparation for COP, the import of electric buses to Azerbaijan, and their current use were discussed. It was noted that an agreement had been reached on the production of electric vehicles by BYD in Azerbaijan.
The importance of multilateral diplomacy and international dialogue between the two countries was emphasized.
Cooperation within the framework of the "Belt and Road" initiative was also touched upon, with Azerbaijan's support for the project being highlighted, and the recent increase in cargo transportation was noted as a positive factor. It was mentioned that the expansion of Azerbaijan’s transportation infrastructure and the potential of the Baku port will create broader opportunities for future cargo shipments.
Satisfaction was expressed with the development of cultural and humanitarian relations, the intensification of high-level mutual visits, and cooperation within international organizations.
