Claims have emerged that Yemen’s Houthis used the Claude artificial intelligence system to develop ballistic missile technology.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that according to the claims, the Houthis used artificial intelligence at various stages of the missile development process.

The claims allege that Claude AI was used instead of engineers for critical processes, including coding the control mechanisms of missile systems, installing autopilot software and conducting flight simulations. It was also reportedly actively involved in compiling the software.

Claude itself confirmed that the Houthis had taken such an approach, stating:

“They used Claude AI to develop a missile. Claude wrote code for the missile’s control system, configured the autopilot, simulated the flight and compiled the software. The missile was tested but crashed. A few hours later, the military personnel turned to the AI again to determine what had gone wrong.”

It should be noted that violent clashes between the Houthis and the Yemeni government have been continuing for several days. The Houthis have also carried out strikes against Saudi Arabia, which supports the Yemeni government.
