Peace agreement will only formalize the current situation

The peace agreement will merely formalize the current situation. However, Armenia continues to weaken, and Azerbaijan is confident that the dynamics are in their favor.

Axar.az reports that these remarks were made by Alexander Krylov, a senior researcher at the Post-Soviet Studies Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Historical Sciences, and President of the Scientific Society of Caucasus Scholars.

He claimed that under such conditions, the scenario of a new escalation seems more realistic.

"At the same time, it is very likely that peace talks will continue," he added.
