Turkiye updates security policies at council meeting

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan chaired the first Turkiye's National Security Council meeting this year.

Axar.az reports that this information was published by the “Milliyet” newspaper.

According to the statement adopted at the end of the meeting, the foreign policy document on national security will be updated every five years, depending on circumstances.

The new document includes political directions deemed necessary for Turkiye, based on developments in global and regional events.

The adopted seven-point statement touched upon issues regarding the country’s domestic and foreign policies, the fight against PKK and FETÖ, ensuring security and territorial integrity by Syria’s new government authorities, just solutions to the Gaza and Palestine issue, and Turkiye's role in resolving problems in Africa, the Middle East, and the Balkans.
