Today, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, met with the parliamentary delegation led by the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yusuf Reza Gilani, who is visiting our country to participate in the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly.

During the conversation, the Speaker, Sahiba Gafarova, informed the guests about the activities of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, established at the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, the work done for the institutional development of this organization during the Azerbaijani chairmanship, the progress of the peace process with Armenia, and the biased attitude of some European organizations and countries towards our country after Azerbaijan fully restored its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Syed Yusuf Reza Gilani said that this was his first visit to Azerbaijan. He drew attention to the fact that Pakistan and Azerbaijan are brotherly countries that have always supported each other and our peoples share common values. He noted that Pakistan is one of the rare countries that has not established diplomatic relations with Armenia. The second trilateral meeting of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Azerbaijan, Turkiye, and Pakistan is also planned to be held in Pakistan this year. In addition, there are ample opportunities to further develop our relations in the fields of trade, defense, energy, culture, and education.

The meeting also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
