Axar.az reports that the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry released a statement.
It was noted that issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda and the current regional situation were discussed during the meeting. It was noted that there are broad prospects for the development of Azerbaijani-Netherlands cooperation.
"However, the importance of mutual discussion mechanisms, especially the use of political consultations and mutual visits, was noted in terms of eliminating the difficulties in developing relations. The Minister also informed the counterpart in detail about Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) and the achievements achieved during the session held in Baku last year. Despite the double standards that hindered the process, the importance of the important results achieved by Azerbaijan's chairmanship of COP29 in terms of agreeing on several crucial elements of climate finance, which is the main priority of the COP29 chairmanship, in particular the new collective quantitative goal on climate finance, was noted," the statement emphasized.
It was noted that the other side was also informed about the current regional situation in the post-conflict period, the Azerbaijani-Armenian normalization process, the work carried out on delimitation, as well as the current difficulties and challenges facing the advancement of the peace agenda:
"It was emphasized that the past conflict, including the problem of double standards we faced in the post-conflict period, is regrettable and does not serve regional peace and constructive efforts. The meeting also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest. On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Netherlands. The political consultations were led by Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev from the Azerbaijani side, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcel de Vink from the Dutch side."
