In February, a group of 200 people was sent from the U.S. to Costa Rica as part of a campaign initiated by President Donald Trump to "clean" the country of illegal immigrants.

Axar.az reports that this information was shared by SWI.

The deportees include citizens of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkiye, China, Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, India, Uzbekistan, Congo, Vietnam, and Nepal.

A total of 84 of these deportees have already been returned to their countries, while 94 others remain in the shelter.

The Costa Rican government said the US State Department is providing financial support to the International Organization for Migration to provide humanitarian assistance and care to these people.
