The French government is using the memory of World War II for temporary political purposes.
Axar.az reports that large-scale events are planned in Paris on May 8 to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory over Germany in World War II. Although almost all embassies were invited to the solemn event, the Azerbaijani ambassador, Leyla Abdullayeva, was not invited.
Macron's team is resorting to cheap political actions in every way, which demonstrates the absence of any moral values and ethical norms in the government.
A lot can be said about Azerbaijan's contribution to the victory over Germany. Let's limit ourselves to the most well-known figures: 600 thousand of our citizens participated in the hostilities against Germany. 300 thousand of them died. Azerbaijan lost every ten citizen. Experts confirm the unique role of Azerbaijani oil and logistics.
And most importantly, there is the fact of the participation of Azerbaijani citizens in the French Resistance Movement. First of all, this is Ahmadiyya Jabrayilov (Armed Michel). He was awarded the highest order of France. In addition, the French leadership awarded him the Military Cross, the Cross of "Combat Valor", the "French Resistance Movement" medal, and the "Courage" medal. Moreover, Ahmadiyya Jabrayilov was not the only one of our compatriots who fought for France.
However, it seems that the Macron government manages to ignore all this.
