Russia expects that Azerbaijan and Armenia understand its concerns about NATO's activities in the South Caucasus region and recognize the risks of deepening cooperation with what it calls an "aggressive military bloc" — the North Atlantic Alliance.

Axar.az informs, citing TASS, this was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova during a briefing.

“Nothing good will come from NATO for the security of the South Caucasus. On the contrary, as we clearly understand, the main goal of Western actors is to destabilize the region, provoke conflict, and create new flashpoints,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.

“We hope that both Baku and Yerevan equally understand our legitimate concerns in this regard and fully recognize the risks of deepening cooperation with aggressive military blocs,” she added.
