For Russia peace in South Caucasus is important

For Russia, it is very important to have peace in the South Caucasus. And thanks to the wisdom of Ilham Aliyev and his relationship with Vladimir Putin, this peace has now been restored.

Axar.az reports Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Yevdokimov said in an interview with BakuTV.

According to him, Moscow welcomes the agreement reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the text of the peace treaty and is interested in the continuation of the normalization process between the two countries.

Yevdokimov emphasized that relations between Baku and Moscow are actively developing, as evidenced by the fact that the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia met four times last year, Putin paid a state visit to Azerbaijan, the prime ministers of the two countries held three meetings, and regular contact is maintained at the level of Deputy Prime Ministers Shahin Mustafayev and Alexey Overchuk.

The diplomat added that Russia and Azerbaijan have great potential to further develop their allied relations.
