At least three civilians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes on Tabriz, a city in northwestern Iran.

Axar.az, citing Iran’s Tasnim agency, reports that the head of East Azerbaijan Province’s Crisis Management Department confirmed the strikes hit 10 residential areas in the region.

“Three people were killed in Tabriz as a result of the attack,” the statement said.

For context, over 200 Israeli fighter jets reportedly carried out airstrikes overnight on more than 100 targets across Iran.

At least five people were killed and 12 others injured in Israeli strikes on the city of Tabriz, the capital of Iran’s East Azerbaijan province, a local official said on Friday.

Majid Farshi, head of the provincial crisis management department, told Iranian state media that several areas of the city were targeted in overnight attacks. Tabriz is located in northwestern Iran, near the country's border with Azerbaijan.
