An Israeli government plane carrying high-ranking officials has landed in Athens.
Axar.az reports that the Greek news portal "newsbreak.gr" published information about this.
According to the portal, this step was taken to protect against a possible Iranian retaliatory attack. It is reported that the government plane used by Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on official visits has been temporarily transferred to Greece.
It is noted that this plane is considered one of Israel's most important strategic assets. It was previously reported that the plane was flying to Cyprus, but Cypriot officials denied this information.
The portal believes that sending the plane to Athens can be considered an indirect involvement of Greece in the process against the backdrop of increasing tensions in the Middle East.
Recall that Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv is currently closed, and Israel's air defense systems have been put on high alert.
