Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan, Mujtaba Demirchilu.

During the meeting, the ambassador presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. The Minister congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic activities in our country.
Then, the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between the two countries, current security issues in the region, including the Israeli-Iranian conflict, were discussed.
It was emphasized that contacts between the leaders of the countries, including the current political dialogue, contribute to the expansion of cooperation in the development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, and that discussion of issues of common interest contributes to the expansion of cooperation.
The position and concern demonstrated by our country regarding the Israeli-Iranian conflict were once again brought to attention. Condolences were expressed to the ambassador regarding the deaths of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, other officials and Iranian citizens. It was noted that it is important to resolve existing problems only in accordance with the norms and principles of international law, through dialogue and diplomatic means.
Gratitude was expressed to the Azerbaijani side for creating conditions for the passage of citizens of various countries and Iran using the land border of Azerbaijan.
The meeting also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
