AzerGold and Argentina open new chapter in collaboration

Chairman of the Board of “AzerGold” Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC), Zakir Ibrahimov, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Argentina to Azerbaijan, Mrs. Marianxeles Bellucci.

Axar.az reports that during the meeting, Z. Ibrahimov provided information on the achievements of “AzerGold” CJSC in its areas of activity, the Company’s strategic plans, and the ongoing work in the mining sector.

The Chairman noted that the implementation of gold mine projects entrusted to the Company has been completely freed from dependence on the state budget.

According to him, preparatory work for the operation of new non-ferrous and ferrous metal deposits continues successfully.

In terms of export profitability, “AzerGold” CJSC continues to strengthen its position in the non-oil and gas sector, making a significant contribution to diversifying the country’s economic activity.

Ibrahimov also emphasized that the achievements gained are a result of the purposeful economic reforms carried out in the country, a favorable investment environment, and the government’s continuous support for the mining industry. He noted that the opportunities created by the state to improve the business environment, stimulate export-oriented sectors, and develop local production have a positive impact on the further expansion of “AzerGold’s” operations.

The Chairman stated that cooperation prospects with several mineral-rich countries—especially Argentina, which has strong economic potential among Latin American nations—are of great interest to the Company. Analyses and potential partnership models being explored in this direction may create opportunities for new joint projects in the future.

Marianxeles Bellucci highlighted that Argentina possesses extensive mineral reserves, including silver, copper, and lithium, and expressed interest in cooperating with “AzerGold” CJSC in the study and management of these deposits.

The Ambassador stressed the importance of establishing joint activities in the mining sector as a new direction of cooperation between the two countries. She noted that partnership with “AzerGold” CJSC—an enterprise with vast experience in geological exploration and mine operation—would bring mutual benefits to both sides.

In conclusion, both parties exchanged views on cooperation and experience-sharing in various areas of the mining industry. It was noted that the meeting was highly useful for assessing future cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
