“Why do you say ‘Artsakh’? Then why does it upset you when some territories of the Republic of Armenia are given Azerbaijani names—for example, when Sevan is called by a different name?” Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan said this while speaking to journalists.
Axar.az informs, citing Armenian media, when reminded that Simonyan himself had once used the term “Artsakh,” he replied: “I was mistaken. In that case, please don’t be upset if, in some country, someone calls Yerevan ‘Irevan’ and Sevan something else.”
Responding to journalists’ remark that Sevan belongs to them, the parliament speaker said: “And Karabakh belongs to Azerbaijan.”
