A memorial ceremony dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the death of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Republic of Turkiye, was held at the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute.

It was reported that at the commemoration ceremony, the memory of Great Leaders Heydar Aliyev and Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, as well as those who died for the independence and territorial integrity of both brotherly countries, was commemorated with a minute of silence. The National Anthems of the Republics of Azerbaijan and Turkiye were played accompanied by a military orchestra.
Those who spoke at the memorial ceremony spoke about the honourable and meaningful life path of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and noted that as a result of the reforms carried out by the genius, the brotherly country successfully emerged from the trials of history and became a rapidly developed and powerful state.
It was emphasized that Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's "Azerbaijan's joy is our joy, and its sadness is our sadness" and National Leader Heydar Aliyev's "One nation, two states" ideas are the main principle of Azerbaijan-Turkiye relations and serve to further strengthen the brotherly relations of both countries.
